Who are we?
Second Bridge e.V.
- 2nd Bridge is a non-profit organization. It works for the holistic well-being of children and their families in the slums of Shalimar in the city of Howrah, West Bengal, India.
- It pursues this goal by creating and promoting a safe first learning environment for primary school children in the Shalimar community.
- It aims to encourage children to discover and develop their potential, thereby instilling or restoring their joy of learning.
- It advocates for the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in Shalimar and is committed to the well-being of the entire Shalimar community.
- It embraces the humanitarian ideal of a just society. Unconditional respect for human dignity is the foundation of 2nd Bridge’s work.
- It seeks partnerships and sponsorships with like-minded individuals and organizations.
